Our on-line courses provide high quality, evidence-based training to enhance your professional skills. Web-based learning (“e-Learning”) has several advantages, including the ability to work at your own pace, saved time and travel cost, and most important, an enhanced learning environment. E-learning enables the use of multi-media and interactivity, which studies have found enhances learning and knowledge retention. Developed with funding from the National Institutes for Health, our courses have empirical data on both their efficacy as well as user satisfaction.

Therapist Training on Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Anxiety Disorders
This interactive, multi-media, web-based training program will teach you how to provide effective cognitive behavioral treatment to patients with anxiety disorders. The material is presented in a variety of formats: interactive exercises, animations, graphical illustrations, and videos of an expert clinician demonstrating the techniques with a mock client. The course was developed by thought leaders in the treatment of anxiety disorders: Drs. Michelle Craske, Raphael Rose, and Kenneth Kobak. Illustrations of the CBT concepts and techniques are provided for each of the anxiety disorders, so you will learn how to apply these skills across the anxiety disorder spectrum. The course provides 7.5 Continuing Education credits and is $99. This course was developed with federal funds from the National Institute of Mental Health, Grant No. R44MH086951

Therapist Training on Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Adolescent Depression
Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based psychosocial intervention for youth, with broad research support. It utilizes treatment strategies with demonstrated efficacy and has been found to be superior to other credible treatments for adolescent depression. Unfortunately, dissemination of CBT has been limited, due to a shortage of trained CBT therapists. The goal of the course is to provide you with the knowledge and skills to enable you to use CBT in treating depressed adolescents. You will learn how to empower depressed adolescents by teaching them specific strategies they can use to manage negative mood, and increase their coping skills to reduce stress. The course provides 5.5 Continuing Education credits as is $75.

This course was developed with federal funds from the National Institute of Mental Health, National Institutes of Health, Department of Health and Human Services, under SBIR Grant No. 2R44MH086152-03 and is modeled after the Cognitive Behavior Therapy Manual used in the Treatment for Adolescents with Depression Study (TADS), NIMH Contract 98-DS-0008, by John F. Curry, et al.

Therapist Training on Interpersonal Psychotherapy for Depression
In this course you will learn how to provide effective IPT treatment to patients with major depression. IPT is a brief, time limited evidence-based treatment with over 40 years of research supporting its efficacy for depression. It focuses on understanding the interpersonal and social context in which the person’s symptoms arose and on helping the patient to understand and use those feelings to change interpersonal encounters. The course provides 4.0 Continuing Education credits and is $39.99.


Working with Parents of Children with Autism: Improving Children's Requesting Skills
Parenting a child with autism can be quite challenging. As an early intervention provider, one of your roles is to provide parents guidance and teach them skills that they can use to use to their child’s communication. In this course you will learn specific strategies to teach parents ways to improve how their child communicates his or her wants and needs. Providing a more effective way for a child to let others know what he or she wants is one of the most important skills for a child with autism to learn. Parents know their child the best and have the most vested interest in their development. Thus, by teaching parents these skills, you are empowering them with the skills they need to improve their child’s functioning in this important area. The course provides 3.0 Continuing Education credits and is $25.

Training in Early Autism Screening (STAT™)
Early identification of autism is a critical first step toward providing the specialized intervention services that are associated with significant gains in learning and behavior. Yet there is a considerable delay between the average age of initial parent concerns (16-20 months) and the age at which children receive a definitive diagnosis (3-4 years). The Screening Tool for Autism in Toddlers and Young Children (STAT™) (Stone et. al., 2004; 2008) is a level 2 screening tool specifically developed to help community service providers identify early behavioral features of autism, thus facilitating earlier referral and treatment. The STAT consists of 12 items and takes about 20 minutes to administer. Because of the interactive format of the STAT and the subtlety of the early social-communication markers of autism, training is necessary to ensure appropriate administration and interpretation. The on-line STAT Training Tutorial reviews the key social and communicative behaviors associated with early identification as well as how to set up the interactive situations required to rate children on each dimension. The tutorial includes interactive exercises and video examples to facilitate learning.

Web-Based Training on the Hamilton Depression Rating Scale
The Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HAMD) is one of the most widely used outcome measures in clinical studies of depression. In this interactive tutorial, you will learn the principles and general guidelines for administering and scoring the HAMD, as well as a review of the concepts and scoring conventions for each of the 17 HAMD items. Interactive video vignettes illustrating the concepts and scoring conventions are utilized, followed by interactive self-testing of your knowledge in order to reinforce learning. Video illustrations of patients with all levels of severity for each item will be provided. The course provides 2.5 Continuing Education credits and is $99.
